Some of my colleagues have noted that it seems that students have been less likely to check their e-mail in recent semesters. Students do seem to be on facebook more often but maintaining a class management system and e-mail in addition to a facebook group for each class can be a lot of work. One solution might be to ask students to track all of thier online networks through one place. Either Disby or Delicious would work for this.
